Your signal in the noise
Two Indians left US jobs to chase a loud idea back home. Today it employs 1500 people & makes ₹350 Crore in revenue.
Epitome of relentless execution and a deep focus on building in India, for India. 🇮🇳
Here’s the story of how Midhula & Viswanadh turned a simple idea into a powerful “Make in India” brand.
The Story
The couple spotted a glaring gap in the market: affordable, high-quality electronics that weren’t just imported and rebranded
With ₹3.5 crore of personal savings, they launched “Premium electronics, built locally, tailored for Indian users”
MI-dhula + VI-swanadh = MIVI.
The fundamentals
Doing the right thing: While others imported from China, MIVI bet on Indian soil. No single import from China.
Began with basic products - charging cables, power banks, accessories
No celebrity campaigns. No mega influencer deals
Sold mainly via Amazon & Flipkart (75% Sales are online)
Secured debt funding from N+1 Capital
Scaled from 1 line & 70 workers to 8 lines & 700 workers in <10 months
Scaling the shop
In 2025,
MIVI’s 120-150 SKUs had 1500 retail touch point in 13 states
Gained 25% online market share in soundbars (< 6 months)
Closed last year with ₹250 cr and 8% EBIDTA profit
For Comparison, boAt did ₹3,285 Cr & have an IPO on the horizon While Noise (backed by Bose) did ₹1,431 Cr
Preparation for ₹500Cr game
2nd Factory @200Cr in Hyderabad in 2024 - 2 Lakhs sq.ft
MIVI is about to pull off ₹350Cr revenue in FY 25 and targeting ₹600Cr for FY 26 (I’m sure they’ll do it)
And the Lessons?
Invest in trust before advertising
Avoid discount wars & paid virality
Bootstrapping ≠ Playing Small
And today, they’re competing with the likes of boAt, Noise, and JBL, while staying true to their roots.
Our roots. Bharat.
If you're building something quietly, and for Bharat from Bharat, this post is your signal in the noise - You are doing the right thing.
See you soon!
